This article discusses several advantages to modern day use of technology in the classroom- some which I have never thought of. One advantage it discusses is allowing students to submit their work online and then receive their grades in real-time. Gone are the days where students had to wait weeks to get their papers back. Another advantage is the increase of communication between the students and teachers. If a student has question on an assignment, the teacher can quickly reply without stopping class or long-winded answers. This opens the door to not only communicating about school work but also personal or social problems in school. A third advantage of technology used in the classroom is the obvious less paper use and providing students with interactive textbooks and models. The last advantage this article discussed is the use of English translating websites and apps that allow foreign students to learn and receive better education by utilizing these tools. All of these advantages introduces effective ways of learning and teaching in a modern day classroom.

Khan Academy is an educational tool that I plan to use in my classroom. Khan Academy has a large library of educational videos that I believe will be a great tool to use for my lessons. After teaching a lesson and having group discussions, before students are to work independently, I could find a short video that pertains to the lesson taught and use it for reinforcement and differentiation approach.
Being that a lot of my tests and quizzes are given online, a concern I have would be that students would use this sight to find information needs for a test or quiz. Also, students may use their independent work time in class to try to achieve more tokens.

https://alicekeeler.com/2016/07/05/google-classroom-not-jump-deep-end/ This article opens my mind to a different perspective on the use of technology in the classroom, particularly google classroom. It brings your focus to not what technology can take away, but rather what it allows more of. It shifts my view, allowing me to see the positive effects I can have on my students use of appropriate technology. The article states several positive aspects of allowing students to use google classroom. One being that is allows the teach more one on one time or group meetings with students that provide richer and deeper relationships between teacher and student. It also says how it provides teachers with the ability to ask for critical and higher order thinking questions rather than just spewing out facts the traditional way. It gives teachers more time to enhance their lessons and ask deeper level questions to engage more students. Of course, it also gives expected positives such as using ...

https://www.forbes.com/sites/lindadarlinghammond/2019/06/16/technology-in-the-classroom-the-question-is-not-now-if-but-how/#56df21681c55 This article speaks on the debated topic of using technology in the classroom. California just passed a bill to increase technology spending to further enhance their standards based computer science curriculum, which is 1 of only 7 states with such standards. It discusses not if, but how technology is appropriate and in the best interest of students and teachers. I was recently in a technology meeting at my school and we discussed not getting behind the times- my principal discussed how fear is what is guiding many people in technology but that all great things started with fear. She said Socrates was fearful of writing his thoughts down, she also said that when the Brooklyn Bridge was built, P.T. Barnum was paid to put his elephants on the bridge to make sure it was sound and secure before anyone would cross it... these stories make up our history ...

https://twitter.com/CommonSenseEd/status/1138199667450294272 This article gives information regarding what specific technology is taught in schools and what teachers see as a problem with our ever increasing technological advances in the classroom. This article states that what is most taught in classroom regarding technology is the way in which you should conduct yourself online, anti-bullying information, and internet safety. It seems as though our teachers are more fearful of the internet and technology in the classroom versus allowing our classrooms to be immersed and fully integrated in technology. It also states, " Teachers reported their top technology-related concern was that "students lack skills to critically evaluate online information," which 35 percent observed "frequently" or "very frequently" in their classrooms. Their second-largest concern was that "technology distracts students from the learning experience and interferes wi...
