This article shares ideas that a teacher or educator can use to increase the use of technology in the classroom. Gone are the days of children reading and using textbooks to learn and write. New aged classrooms are turning more and more to technology to increase in engagement and learning. There are many different ways to use technology in the classroom. A great way to increase collaboration in the classroom is by using technology driven project based learning. Setting students up in the groups to collaboratively use the computer to access information or games is a great way to not only increase technological skills but also social skills. Rather than having students create physical projects in class to present, why not have students create a multimedia presentation that they can present using their computer to the class.
There are many ways that technology can increase learning and engagement. Creating fun games that students can play to study for tests, using multimedia sights for projects, and even email for increasing communication between student and teacher are all ways that teachers can easily increase their technology use in the classroom.

Testmoz is a website that teacher can use to create assessments or quizzes. It is extremely easy to use with no complicated instructions or steps you have to take. I like this website because of it's simplicity and they ability to share it with students so they can take it on their computer. It even scores the assessments for you. You also have the option the print the assessments if you wanted to pass them out to students.
One downfall to Testmoz is that unless you pay the $20 yearly fee, you cannot access more than 100 test scores. It's a great site to use for shorter quizzes, but for longer assessments it would not be beneficial because you would not have enough opportunities for it to score your test for you.

https://alicekeeler.com/2016/07/05/google-classroom-not-jump-deep-end/ This article opens my mind to a different perspective on the use of technology in the classroom, particularly google classroom. It brings your focus to not what technology can take away, but rather what it allows more of. It shifts my view, allowing me to see the positive effects I can have on my students use of appropriate technology. The article states several positive aspects of allowing students to use google classroom. It also says how it provides teachers with the ability to ask for critical and higher order thinking questions rather than just spewing out facts the traditional way. It gives teachers more time to enhance their lessons and ask deeper level questions to engage more students. Of course, it also gives expected positives such as using ...

California just passed a bill to increase technology spending to further enhance their standards based computer science curriculum, which is 1 of only 7 states with such standards. It discusses not if, but how technology is appropriate and in the best interest of students and teachers. I was recently in a technology meeting at my school and we discussed not getting behind the times- my principal discussed how fear is what is guiding many people in technology but that all great things started with fear. She said Socrates was fearful of writing his thoughts down, she also said that when the Brooklyn Bridge was built, P.T. Barnum was paid to put his elephants on the bridge to make sure it was sound and secure before anyone would cross it... these stories make up our history ...

https://twitter.com/CommonSenseEd/status/1138199667450294272 This article gives information regarding what specific technology is taught in schools and what teachers see as a problem with our ever increasing technological advances in the classroom. This article states that what is most taught in classroom regarding technology is the way in which you should conduct yourself online, anti-bullying information, and internet safety. It seems as though our teachers are more fearful of the internet and technology in the classroom versus allowing our classrooms to be immersed and fully integrated in technology. It also states, " Teachers reported their top technology-related concern was that "students lack skills to critically evaluate online information," which 35 percent observed "frequently" or "very frequently" in their classrooms. Their second-largest concern was that "technology distracts students from the learning experience and interferes wi...
